It is almost fascinating how air conditioning systems in heavy duty vehicles consume such enormous amounts of fuel. In some case it can reach almost 10 percent of the vehicles total fuel consumption. Soon that will all change: SaltX Technology is working closely together with the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) in the UK to develop an innovative air conditioning system that will fix the problem.

SaltX Technology is now developing the world’s first air conditioning system that’s powered by waste heat from engines. If you drive a heavy vehicle or machinery, this means that it will be possible for you to save up to 4000 liters of fuel per year.

Powered by engine exhaust gases, the system could reduce fuel consumption by over 4 percent in key segments, such as off-highway trucks and construction equipment, something that saves a lot of money – and that’s also good for the environment.
